All LASD members are responsible for their own gear, dog food, veterinary bills, gas, and training expenses Start up costs for a new member can exceed $5000 in the first year alone. Dispatched directly by the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department, the team typically responds to 60 to 100 requests for our services each year. Teams drive tens of thousands of miles to searches and trainings and provide thousands of hours of service to our community.
And we never charge for any of our services.
Your donations make it possible for us to continue doing what we do; 100% of all donations go directly to support the Los Angeles Search Dog teams.
